By Specialty
ERAS photo
by specialty.
The AAMC spec is identical across every specialty — same dimensions, same file size, same plain light background. What varies is wardrobe, posture, and the look a given specialty's program directors respond to. Here's what we've learned shooting thousands of applicants.
Pick a specialty
The rule that applies to all specialties
The AAMC photo spec doesn't care what you applied to. 2.5 × 3.5 in · 375 × 525 px · ≤ 150 KB · JPEG/PNG · 150 dpi · plain light background. Specialty-specific advice is about the choices within the spec — wardrobe color and structure, posture, expression — not about the spec itself.
What every specialty page covers
- Wardrobe choices that read right to that specialty's PDs.
- Expression notes — when a half-smile helps, when neutral is safer.
- Common mistakes we see from applicants in that specialty.
- What a Plus-tier session unlocks for that specialty (LinkedIn, fellowship photos, faculty pages).
More specialties coming
Dermatology, anesthesiology, radiology, psychiatry, family medicine, OB-GYN, and orthopedic surgery pages are in production. Want yours next? Email info@erasphoto.com and tell us what you applied to — we'll prioritize the ones our applicants ask for most.
